Home Design | Transforming The Ivy Nook

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS, A LITTLE BIT OF THAT

Ya'll we've got a double-whammy for you! This month we had the privilege of sharing Christina Hoagland's "WHY behind the WHAT" - the journey of her business The Ivy Nook. Well (drum roll please.....) we ALSO had the awesome opportunity to spruce up her creative space!

In the basement of her town home lies THE perfect room. With concrete floors and unfinished ceilings, it's a total "makers space!" Being an artist, she doesn't worry about making a mess on the floors - the exposed beams also add an industrial feel. When we talked with her about her dream room, she wanted a light and airy space to inspire her watercolors and calligraphy.

AND SO WE GOT REFINING (get it, Refinery Co. guys and gals?!)

You don't need to spend a fortune, ya'll. We knocked this room out-of-the-park on a $100 budget! Refinement to staple pieces is key, so the first thing we did was apply this granite vinyl countertop (GORGEOUS)! Adding the weaving and prints from Magnolia Journal to the wall gave the corner a fresh feel. We also wanted her counter to be a versatile/practical yet chic, extending her work zone beyond a small desk. The plant, books, letterboard and organizers were the perfect touch!

Next up was this fabulous cozy corner pictured above. The adorable penmanship wall hang and hanging plant were Christina's initial finds that inspired the transformation. Jess found this adorable clearance Target pillow perfectly complimenting the wall weaving and added the books + gorgeous plant to bring the window/nook to life.

The granite vinyl coutnertop is peel-n-stick. We tag-teamed this counter space transformation, and look at how pretty it is! Jess (also nicknamed the Goodwill Queen) found this gem-of-a-side table featured above for just $6.99. We painted it (along with Christina's original desk featured above) and added a new crystal knob.

Jess then sprinkled her Refinery Co. "fairy dust!" The plant/books on the side table and the lamp/new organizers on the desk were just what Christina needed!

We hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
